LG Optimus Black display shootout: NOVA (LG Optimus Repair by www.drmobiles.co.nz)
There’s a new kid on the mobile display block, LG’s NOVA LCD display. It promises to be the dream screen – it’s super bright, energy efficient, with great colors, viewing angles and outdoor visibility. We’ll be running our usual battery of tests on the new guy to see if it can deliver on those promises.
LG isn't just throwing superlatives around – they’ve have hard numbers to back up their claims. They bill the NOVA display as the brightest smartphone screen around – 700 nits of brightness. Also, keep in mind that bigger screens are harder to light up, so at 4” big the NOVA display of the LG Optimus Black P970 will be well ahead of the competition if it can pull it off, as other 4-inchers don’t even come close to 700 nits.
NOVA uses In-Plane Switching technology, which greatly reduces color distortion and contrast loss when viewed at an angle. This is vital on mobile devices as you rarely hold the phone so that you view the display head on.
But LG has done more to enhance the viewing experience – they’ve worked harder on reaching what they call “pure white tones”. LCD and AMOLED screens usually have a slight tint to them, so greys are not quite neutral and even the white is not perfectly white. Your eyes get used to it pretty quick, but it’s always there – unless your phone has a NOVA display that is.
What else? Ah, “clearest” and “most readable” are being thrown around in relation to the NOVA display too – but how is a 4” WVGA screen better in sharpness and resolution than another 4” WVGA screen? It could be possible, not all pixels are created equal. But we’ll need to get pretty close and personal with the Optimus Black to find that out. We’ll pit it against some of the best in the business – the Samsung Galaxy S and S II, the Apple iPhone 4 and LG‘s own Optimus 2X (for good measure) to find out which one is the best.
Energy efficiency is also on the menu – LG claims 50% less energy used to display a pure white screen than AMOLED displays and also 50% less energy during general usage than regular LCD displays.

We are ready to turn a blind eye to some of the disadvantages. 3G is not essential in this price range and so is a decent camera. The S40 is not the best-looking feature phone interface but it would’ve been a lot easier to live with if it had smart dial, some document viewer capabilities or basic multitasking.
Cost-cutting is key for the X2-01. Nokia obviously presumes the target audience doesn’t really need those things. The X2-01 is all about simplicity and ease of use plus some great build quality. This entry-level messenger will not be bothered by comparisons.

Shakira Biography – Life of the Famous Colombian Singer (Dr Mobiles Limited)
Shakira is a Columbian singer, song writer, dancer and philanthropist. With her famous twists in belly dancing, Shakira has created waves in the dance music industry and has many awards to her credit including two Grammy awards and a Golden Globe nomination.Shakira was born as Shakira Isabel Mebarak Ripoll in Barranquilla, Colombia, on February 2, 1977. Her mother was Columbian and her father was a Lebanese Jeweler. She was raised as a Roman Catholic and spent much of her childhood in Barranquilla.Inspired by her father’s story writing, Shakira started writing poems and wrote her first poem, "La Rosa De Cristal" ("The Crystal Rose") at the age of four. When Shakira was eight, she wrote her first song "Tus gafas oscuras" ("Your dark glasses") inspired by her father, who wore dark glasses to hide the grief of his son’s death. She enjoyed singing at her school and belly dancing since she was four years old.Seeing young Shakira perform at various cultural events in Barranquilla, Monica Ariza, a local theater producer was greatly impressed and decided to support her. In 1990, at the age of 13, Shakira started her music career with the debut album, "Magia", recorded with Sony Music.Shakira won numerous awards, including two Grammy, seven Latin Grammy awards, twelve Billboad Latin Music awards and many MTV music awards. She is engaged to Antonio de la Rúa, the son of former Argentinian president, Fernando de la Rua. Is hypnotism real, short answer? Yes.
Its not some mystical art known only to ancient druids and people who change their names by deed poll to ‘Moonstryder’. Nor is it a marketing scam dreamed up in some smelly squat by a bunch of techno-hippies.
Human beings have been using hypnosis for thousands of years. It was used by the ancient Egyptians as a medical treatment and has continued to be used for that purpose by the Chinese ever since. It fell out of favour in the west as the medical profession closed ranks squeezing it out. 19th Century travelers rediscovered it uses and, until the discovery of chloroform, it was widely used as an anesthetic for surgery.
Now to be honest it’s had a bit of a bad press. It’s been used in crappy horror films and rubbish TV dramas too often for it not to be seen as something a bit comic by many people. The media have popularized the myth of hypnosis without alluding to the reality therefore it’s not surprising many ask ‘is hypnotism real’. So let’s get something straight.
Hypnosis is a scientifically proven, empirically evidenced psychological technique based upon thousands upon thousands of well researched, fully substantiated case studies. Hypnotherapy has been successfully used to treat every psychological disorder from depression and low self esteem to alcohol and drug addiction.
It is not magic or anything difficult to understand it is quite simply a process which enables the hypnotist to focus the conscious mind of the patient or subject on an object or sound that enables them to work directly with the subconscious mind. The subconscious is where we store our beliefs and if you shape beliefs you shape behavior. To be honest I really can’t see why there’s so much debate about it.
