Apple iPhone 6 Leaked Pictures and News? Auckland, New Zealand. 5S repair, network unlock

27th August, 2014--Just 12 days ahead of launch date, images posted to Chinese version of Twitter were swiftly deleted - but 'press shots' show sleek design and highly polished finish.

Slick new images of the highly-anticipated Apple iPhone 6, seemingly of good enough quality to be official press material, have found their way on to the internet.

A picture, purporting to be a genuine Apple marketing render, was posted in an 'accidental' leak by China Telecom on the country's equivalent of Twitter.

The image shows three handsets side by side, silver black and champagne, in colour with the epithet 'iPhone 6. Even Better'.

It shows the rounded edges the handset is expected to have when the highly-anticipated new model is unveiled in a fortnight's time on September 9.

The images depict many of the features shown in other leaks over the past few months and look like a slick offering in general.

Stacked and ready: Speculation on the new handset design is reaching almost hysterical levels
Tech enthusiasts have just 13 days to wait for the official unveiling so we don't have long to wait to see how accurate these images are.

Earlier this week new photos, apparently taken inside the Chinese factory making the iPhone 6, revealed details about Apple's next generation smartphone.

Leaked: These images were apparently taken at the factory where the iPhone 6 is being made.
The pictures, which appear to be photographs of schematic readouts, and show the logo of manufacturing facility Foxconn, ad were published by French website iGen.

They appear to confirm the existence of an iPhone with a 5.5" display - codenamed N56. The larger handset is listed as 158mm long, 78mm wide and 7.1mm thick - which increases to 7.7mm with the camera, which protrudes slightly.

The weight is listed as 184.6g, significantly more than the current iPhone 5S, which weighs in at 112g. (iPhone 6: China Telecom 'leaks picture' of new Apple smartphone)

Tech News Report 2012: Samsung Unveils New Tablet To Challenge IPad

SEOUL - Samsung Electronics Co's new tablet, unveiled in the United States, is the South Korean electronics giant's latest attempt to wrestle market share from Apple Inc, but is not being heralded as an iPad killer.
The Galaxy Note 10.1 tablet launches on Thursday in the United States, Britain and South Korea, just weeks before Samsung is expected to unwrap its revamped version of the original 5.3-inch Note smartphone.
Samsung, which Apple accuses of copying the design and some features of its iPad and iPhone, hopes the enlarged version of its popular phone-cum-tablet Note will resonate with consumers, and the device - with a stylus-type pen and split-screen feature - has picked up positive early reviews from tech bloggers.
That said, the price - $499 for 16 gigabytes of memory and WiFi-only, the same as the iPad - and competition from increasingly smart phones, have left analysts doubting the new device will see off the iPad.
"When you look at the price and overall consumer awareness about Samsung tablets, it's not likely to be a big success," said Park Young, an analyst at Woori Investment & Securities in Seoul. "Tablets are getting cheaper and even Apple is rumored to be preparing a cheaper iPad. Consumers also tend not to spend much on tablets any more as smartphones can do most of the entertainment functions that tablets offer."
Samsung has been keen to differentiate the Note 10.1 from rival tablets, which are primarily used to consume media - highlighting the device's ability to personalize and create. At Wednesday's launch event in New York, "Moulin Rouge" movie director Baz Luhrmann and fashion designer Zac Posen were on hand to demonstrate how they use the S-Pen stylus in their work.
SPLIT-SCREEN
The Galaxy 10.1 is named after its screen size, which is slightly larger than the 9.7-inch iPad, and has impressed with a split-screen feature that allows users to have two apps active side-by-side.
Samsung hopes the bigger version of the original Galaxy Note, which has sold more than 10 million units since its October launch, can help it narrow the gap with Apple in tablet markets, where it remains a distant second to the Cupertino, California-based firm.
Apple sold 28.8 million iPads in January-June, giving it 64.4 percent of the market, well ahead of Samsung's 9.9 percent market share, according to research firm IHS iSuppli.
The Note 10.1 uses Google's Android software and a quad-core processor with 1.4 GHz clock speed. It boasts a 5 megapixel rear camera and 1.9 megapixel front-facing camera, which also detects the user's eye movements to prevent the device from going into standby mode.
The 32 GB model will sell for $549, versus iPad's $599.
A U.S. judge on Wednesday asked for the chief executives of Apple and Samsung to speak to each other before a jury begins deliberating next week in the high-stakes patent trial between the two tech titans.
In Seoul on Thursday, Samsung shares were flat at 1.345 million won ($1,200) in a market down 0.1 percent. Shares in Apple closed down 0.1 percent on Nasdaq on Wednesday.
($1 = 1129.6500 Korean won)

iPad Mini to be thinner than Google Nexus 7 and new Apple iPad (iOS, repair, unlock, Auckland, Takapuna)

Apple’s as-yet unofficial ‘iPad Mini’ will be substantially thinner than the regular sized iPad, schematics for cases purportedly intended for the next-gen slate suggest.
Think iOS has got its hands on some drawings of a third-party case for the iPad Mini, courtesy of unnamed sources in China, revealing some impressive dimensions for oft-rumoured but hitherto unseen device.
iPad Mini leaked case drawing
According to the leaksters, the iPad Mini will be 200.13 mm (7.87 in) tall, 134.73mm (5.3 in) wide and a staggering 7.3 mm (0.29 in) thin.
By way of comparison, the new iPad is 9.4mm (0.37 in) thick, while the iPod touch is 7.2 mm, which corroborates rumours that the iPad Mini will be ‘almost as thin’ as Apple's touchscreen music player.
It also means the tablet is considerably slimmer than Google’s recently unveiled Nexus 7, which comes at 10.45 mm (0.411 in) in depth – making Apple’s effort a more attractive option in the portability stakes.
Although it’s not revealed how much the tablet will weight, we’re thinking it will be broadly in line with rival seven-inch slates, possibly slightly heavier if it rocks an aluminum body like its older siblings.
Specs are still hard to come by but if you place much faith in analysts' forecasts, it will sport a 7.85-inch display and possibly the same dual core A5X processor as the new iPad. However, it’s unlikely to feature Retina resolution or even a rear-mounted camera.
A more svelte iPad could seriously scupper the charge of smaller, cheaper Android slates - even though it’s unlikely that Apple will be able to undercut the competition in price, which is likely to sit somewhere in the region of $299 (£299).

2011 Rumor: The New Apple iPhone 5 Could Be Thinner and Wider!

Though it is not clear when iPhone 5 will be released, we have been hearing all kinds of rumours about the phone and not a single day goes without an irrelevant rumors that pass by.
However, a little birdie revealed that the Apple’siPhone 5 could be thinner and wider than iPhone 4. this is however based on the photos that were published on the Italian blog MacityNet. The photos revealed not the iPhone, but the purportediPhone 5 case. It may not be true that Apple is really considering increasing iPhone’s size from what it is right now.
6d7ba423472ad3cdeacd0c71126baddf
However if one observes the trend in the Smartphone industry, most of them have been unveiling devices that are 4 inches or larger. iPhone 4 has a width of 3.5 inches and if the purported iPhone 5 cases are authentic, it could be quite possible that the iPhone 5 would be either 4 inches wide, or larger. This might make the iPhone a little too wide to be kept in the pocket, unless you wear over-sized clothes. However, if it turns out to be true, people may end up using iPhone 5 more often than iPad to consume content. The larger the screen, the easier it is to consume content and an iPhone 5 which has a width of more than 4 inches could cannibalize the iPad. Right now, the iPad is really popular with those who consume content.
Of course, that is an exaggeration, and even the exaggerations depend on obscure rumours from an Italian blog’s pictures of purported iPhone 5 case. The build-up of excitement before any new product launch is understandable, but Apple fans tend to go a little too further when it comes to getting excited about new Apple product launches. If you were wondering what it might be like when the iPhone 5 is finally launched, well, you will just have to wait to know.

Question: Will the new Apple iPhone 5 Recognize Your Face?

Apple as usual has made a business decision that could lead to exciting new features on the next generation iPhone and beyond. The company has acquired Swedish company Polar Rose, known for its mobile face recognition technology FaceLib among other similar products.
apple iphone polar rose face recognition
With full face detection and tracking of faces in video, the solutions Polar Rose delivers could change how you interact with your iPhone. Now that the iPhone 4 has a front-facing camera, passcode lock could end up going the way of the dinosaurs.
Imagine holding your iPhone up and the device automatically unlocking to reveal your home screen. The neat trick is that your iPhone won't do this for anyone else. If the software on the iPhone recognizes your face, this replaces your passcode. Some Apple patents have recently been revealed that could lead to iPhones recognizing the shape of your hand, which could also replace the four-digit passcode.
Other interesting uses for the technology include automatically tagging people in photos and recognizing FaceTime callers from contact information. As the photographs taken on the iPhone improve, various image analysis algorithms could also be used to automatically classify and organize photos by type or subject.
Apple's iPhoto currently recognizes faces in pictures for tagging purposes. It's possible Apple is looking to improve and expand this functionality. Polar Rose removed its free tagging services for Facebook and Flickr earlier this month, citing interest from larger companies in licensing their technology. Staying true to form, Apple has not confirmed the acquisition of Polar Rose.
